According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, veteran LB Jaylon Smith has been released by the New Orleans Saints Tuesday. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Smith could return on the team's practice squad, Rapoport reports, though other teams are expected to have interest. Since being cut by the Cowboys in 2021, Smith has spent time with the Green Bay Packers, New York Giants and the Saints. He has started 15 games over the last two seasons, recording 72 tackles.
