Evan Engram, Jaguars long-term deal ‘up in the air’

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS, the Jacksonville Jaguars and franchise-tagged TE Evan Engram’s contract discussions are “up in the air” on the potential of reaching a long-term deal. (Jonathan Jones on Twitter)

The deadline for a long-term deal is Monday, July 17, and Engram is currently set to play on the franchise tag in 2023. Engram will make $11.3 million on the tag. Engram had a career-recharging year in Year 1 in Jacksonville, catching 73 balls for 766 yards, all career marks. At the age of 28, Engram is looking for a long-term deal to continue playing alongside QB Trevor Lawrence in a high-potential offense. His current average draft position is the half-PPR TE8, according to FantasyPros.
