According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the New York Jets have signed All-Pro DT Quinnen Williams to a four-year extension worth $96 million, with $66 million guaranteed. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Fans noticed that Williams had added "Jets" back to his social media bio, and it turns out it was a good sign. Williams becomes the second-highest paid DT ever — receiving the largest second contract ever for a DT. The Jets had an incentive to get a deal done before the team will be featured on Hard Knocks, and they got it finalized. Williams is also the first Jet first-rounder to sign a second contract since the 2011 NFL Draft. Williams' 12 TFLs and 12 sacks in 2022 will be needed as the Jets look to make a playoff push in 2023 with QB Aaron Rodgers.
