Daron Payne receives franchise tag from Commanders

According to John Keim of ESPN, the Washington Commanders are placing the nonexclusive franchise tag on DL Daron Payne. (John Keim, ESPN)
Fantasy Impact:
Payne had been openly recruited by players around the league after the season, including by Cowboys LB Micah Parsons. Because Payne was given the nonexclusive franchise tag, teams will still be able to reach out to Payne, though Washington is expected to pursue a long-term deal, according to Keim. His tag price will be $18.937 million if he plays on the tag in 2023.
