Wentz is dealing with a fractured ring finger he suffered during the Commanders’ Week 6 game on Thursday. Washington could decide to place Wentz on IR considering he is looking at a four-week recovery timeline based on the information from the doctor doing the procedure. The Commanders are likely going to turn the reins over to Taylor Heinicke, but they also could play rookie Sam Howell to see what they have in what is likely a lost season for Washington.
