The Commanders placed Brian Robinson the the reserve/non-football injury list Thursday. He will miss at least the first four weeks of the season. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

The move was to be expected based on the injuries he sustained while being the victim of a robbery. This move allows the Commanders to fill his spot on the roster and gives Robinson time to recover. Based on the timeline given over the last few days, there is a chance the rookie running back is ready by Week 5.
