The Dolphins have placed tight end Adam Shaheen on the season-ending IR, ending his sixth NFL season before it begins, as reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Shaheen goes on the injured reserve with the same knee injury that caused him to fail his physical in Houston nixing his trade there last week. The former-Bears second-rounder caught 24 balls for 260 yards and three touchdowns in 28 games for Miami since being acquired via trade in 2020. Shaheen is in the final year of a two-year contract worth $4.85 million and will become an unrestricted free agent in 2023. He is not eligible to return to the Dolphins' active roster but Miami may opt to release him with an injury settlement in the future. Based on the Dolphins’ earlier attempt to trade him, it seems likely his time in Miami has come to an end.
