D'Andre Swift is set to lead the way in the Lions backfield, but he could potentially have his workload managed throughout training camp and the preseason. (Lionswire.usatoday.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Coach Dan Campbell wants to make sure Swift has fresh legs entering the regular season. “Look, this time last year, we went and we had to pull back man. He missed – shoot man, week and a half, two weeks in camp for the most part,” Campbell said. “So, we really never got to put a load on him and get him prepared for a season. Swift had a rough go of training camp in 2021 due to a groin injury which led to a slow start. He has only played in 13 games in each of his first two seasons. Many are expecting a breakout year from Swift in year three with an ADP of 13th overall (RB8), according to FantasyPros. The potential managed workload could help Swift have fresh legs and lead to a strong start to the season. Swift will be a strong RB1/RB2 target at the turn of rounds one and two.
