Mac Jones confident heading into second season

Former first-round draft pick, Mac Jones has ‘made significant strides’ heading into 2022, he told Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston per Michael Baca of NFL.com. One of the major focuses for the Patriots quarterback was becoming more disciplined with his diet this offseason. Jones’ teammates have also noticed the second-year QB becoming more of a vocal presence on the field, stating his leadership qualities have gone to “another level”. (Michael Baca of NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Mac Jones is coming off a highly successful rookie campaign in which he started all 17 games, ending the season with 3,801 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and the second-highest completion percentage (67.56) by a rookie all-time. Jones also led the New England Patriots to a 10-7 record and led them back to the postseason. Still, despite all of Jones' success as a rookie, he mostly served as a game manager for the majority of 2021 with only 11.3 percent of his attempts going for more than 20 yards. With Patriots veterans due to report to training camp on July 26th, it will be interesting to watch how a more confident, slimmer, Mac Jones operates in this offense in year two. Though, until the Patriots let up on their conservative play calling, Jones, who’s ADP currently sits at 24, is only worth rostering in dynasty or two quarterback/super-flex leagues.
