Paxton Lynch drafted in USFL after requesting release from CFL

According to his agent, Chris Cabott, Paxton Lynch requested permission from the Saskatchewan Roughriders to enter the USFL portal for family reasons. He was subsequently drafted by the Michigan Panthers. (Chris Cabott on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Lynch had been with the Roughriders for one season after not making the roster for the Steelers in 2020. A first-round pick in the 2016 draft, he had previously played two seasons for the Denver Broncos but has not seen any NFL action since. The Michigan Panthers drafted the former Memphis standout in the 12th round.
