San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell (head) is in the NFL's concussion protocol, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area. (Matt Maiocco on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Mitchell smacked his head against a Seahawks defender on a fourth-down play during the third quarter of the 49ers' loss on Sunday. He was cleared to return during the game but started to experience concussion symptoms on Monday morning, per head coach Kyle Shanahan. This certainly makes Mitchell questionable for Sunday's upcoming game against the Bengals so any fantasy managers that roster him should have a backup plan in place. JaMycal Hasty and Jeff Wilson Jr. would likely form some type of committee if Mitchell can't suit up.
