Alfred Morris released by the New York Giants

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Giants have released veteran RB Alfred Morris. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
As teams work to trim their rosters down to 85 players, the Giants got a little bit closer to that number after releasing Morris. With Saquon Barkley being activated from the PUP list and Devontae Booker also in the mix, Morris became expendable. Morris, 32-years old, played in nine games for New York last year and totaled 238 yards and one touchdown. At this point in his career Morris is probably best suited for a backup role and doesn't figure to carry any fantasy value.
