Former professional baseball player and free-agent RB Tyler Gaffney has signed a deal with the New England Patriots, per Ian Rapoport. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels continue to add depth to the Patriots' backfield, signing former professional baseball player and running back Tyler Gaffney. Gaffney last played as a member of the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad in December and could see a similar role in New England. This is a minor signing that should not impact the value of Damien Harris, James White, Sony Michel, or rookie Rhamondre Stevenson.
