Former Detroit Lions QB Chase Daniel has reportedly signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers, earning $1.5 million in guarantees from his previous contract with the Lions, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The veteran journeyman will head to L.A. to back-up and mentor QB Justin Herbert in 2021, as the rookie displayed phenomenal skills despite an underwhelming supporting cast in 2020. Daniel only started in four games for Detroit last season, throwing for 264 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions during that span. The veteran quarterback will likely be off the fantasy radar barring any unforeseen injuries but is a capable back-up during times of crises within an organization, as he has proven throughout his 11-year career.
