Steven Nelson released by the Pittsburgh Steelers

by Avram Avramov | Chiefs Correspondent | Tue, Mar 23rd 2:33pm EDT

Per Field Yates of ESPN, the Steelers have released CB Steven Nelson after failing to trade him. (Field Yates on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

After publicly asking the Steelers to "not hold him hostage" Nelson has gotten his wish as he has been cut by Pittsburgh. Nelson, 28-years old, and the Steelers seemingly could not agree to a long-term extension which is what lead to the two sides parting ways. The release of Nelson clears up $8.25M in cap space for the Steelers. In 2020, Nelson had 15 starts during which he totaled 68 tackles and two interceptions. The veteran CB will likely find a new home relatively quickly.
