Adam Schefter is reporting that Delanie Walker is planning to come back as a free agent in 2021 after sitting out the 2020 season due to COVID-19 and health concerns. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Walker was one of the bigger names to opt-out of the 2020 season but appears healthy and ready to get back to the field next season. Now 36 years old, Walker probably won't be the dominant tight end he was from 2014 to 2017 when he had four straight seasons with 800-plus receiving yards. Between 2018 and 2019, Walker only suited up for eight total games and five starts as he battled through a slew of injuries. It'll be interesting to see what demand Walker commands on the free agency market with younger guys like Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry also available, but the big-bodied veteran should find a home before September's kickoff.
