Anthony Brown lands on IR with rib injury

Dallas Cowboys CB Anthony Brown was placed on Injured Reserve on Saturday due to a rib injury he sustained in Week 1 versus the Los Angeles Rams. (Michael Gehlken on Twitter)

A blow to Cowboys’ secondary: CB Anthony Brown (ribs) has been placed on injured reserve, team announced. He is ineligible to practice or play for at least 21 days. Brown added to injury report on Friday.

OT Eric Smith also was promoted to roster from practice squad.

Fantasy Impact:

Brown signed a three-year deal with the Cowboys this past March and was off to a great start to the season, accumulating six tackles (five solo) in Week 1. The Dallas DST will miss their versatile nickel/slot corner, and in a corresponding move, the Cowboys promoted OT Eric Smith from their practice squad.
