Damiere Byrd

Damiere Byrd the favorite for the No. 3 WR role in New England?

by Mike Maher | Sat, Sep 5th 8:03am EDT

With the Patriots moving on from wide receiver Mohamed Sanu earlier this week, Damiere Byrd is the current favorite to be the team's No. 3 wideout behind starters Julian Edelman and N'Keal Harry, according to a report from ESPN's Mike Reiss. (Mike Reiss, ESPN.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Byrd is a burner who offers elite speed, but he has never produced consistently during his five-year career. 2019 with the Arizona Cardinals was his best season when he played in 11 games and caught 32 passes for 359 yards and one touchdown. He can be considered a deep sleeper with the news that he could see regular playing time in New England, but there are more questions than answers when it comes to Byrd and the Cam Newton-led offense heading into this season.
