Vyncint Smith to have core muscle surgery

Vyncint Smith will be undergoing a core muscle surgery after injuring himself during training camp. Smith had been taking first team reps for the injured Denzel Mims (hamstring). Smith is expected to miss 5-8 weeks. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Very unfortunate news for Smith who was starting to work his way up the depth chart. Smith's opportunity may be gone by the time he returns, as the season will most likely be underway. With Smith and Mims out, Braxton Berrios is the next receiver up to take reps as a starter for the Jets.
