Chase Thomas tears ACL

49ers backup outside linebacker Chase Thomas tore his ACL. This leaves the 49ers with Aaron Lynch, Corey Lemonier, Aldon Smith and Ahmad Brooks as their healthy outside linebackers. (Matt Maiocco)
Fantasy Impact:
The 49ers linebacker corps has quickly gone from their biggest strength to one of extreme weakness. Thomas wasn't going to be anything but a backup, but with the retirements of Patrick Willis and Chris Borland on top of this ACL tear, the 49ers are suddenly scrambling to field a complete LB corps. This probably keeps Ahmad Brooks on the squad in 2015 out of sheer necessity.
