Derrick Henry has agreed to terms on a four-year extension with the Titans

2019 rushing leader Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans have agreed on a four-year, $50M extension, with $25.5M guaranteed. (Jay Glazer on Twitter)

There it is. Henry lands a long-term contract with the team who drafted him in the 2nd round back in 2016. This is the right move to make if your the Titans to show the locker room your appreciation for a guy that helped get you to the AFC Championship game a season ago. As for Derrick Henry, one would have to imagine he’s ecstatic to lock up a long-term deal given the new landscape in the league surrounding the running back position. Typically, teams are now quicker to part ways with their 25+ year old running backs as their rookie contracts expire, but not with this running back. Henry has proven he’s a special player, and this extension proves his worth to the Titans organization.
