Fantasy Impact:
After going through the entire Draft and not selecting a quarterback, the Patriots have now signed two undrafted free agents, Louisiana Tech QB J’Mar Smith, and now Michigan State QB Brian Lewerke. Bill Belichick seems content to go into the season with Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer as his two options as the starter, with Smith and Lewerke competing for 3rd string. Lewerke joins the Patriots after being a three-year starter for the Spartans, and last season, he threw for 3,079 yards and 17 TDs, with 13 INTs. It’s a huge vote of confidence for any quarterback Belichick brings on to the roster, as we think his eye for QB talent is pretty good.
