Colin Thompson, former XFL TE, signs a deal with Carolina

According to his agent, TE Colin Thompson, most recently of the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers, has signed a deal with the Carolina Panthers. (Paul Sheehy on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Thompson played his college ball at Temple, where new Panthers Head Coach Matt Rhule coached collegiately between 2006 and 2016. Thompson becomes the fifth Temple Owl that Rhule has signed in his short regime so far in Carolina. He only caught one pass for 13 yards while playing in the XFL, but he’s got chemistry with the Panthers head coach from their time together at Temple, so maybe Thompson can make some noise in Carolina.
