Evan Spencer 'looked terrific' at Ohio State pro day

by Brian Tesch | Sat, Mar 14th 11:01am EDT

According to draft insider Tony Pauline, Ohio State WR Evan Spencer "looked terrific". Pauline went on to add "The big-bodied wide out ran 40 times that ranged from 4.40 to 4.45 and caught the ball extremely well, extending his hands to grab the pass away from his frame. The feeling is this workout will push Spencer into the late part of the draft, as comparisons are being made to James Wright, the seventh-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals last year who was marginally productive in college but came with a great deal of physical talent and looked good during his pro-day workout. Fantasy Impact:

You may remember Spencer from the Sugar Bowl, as he threw a memorable touchdown pass to help defeat Alabama. Spencer never recorded more than 300 yards receiving in a season for Ohio State, so there are questions about his ability. However it seems that Spencer has the look of an NFL receiver and should be on your watch-lists going forward.
