Lance Briggs will not return to Bears in 2015

The Bears have told veteran linebacker Lance Briggs that they will not be offering him a contract this offseason. Briggs has spent his entire 12-year career with Chicago and made the Pro-Bowl seven of those years. Briggs is expected to get an offer to join Tampa Bay from former Bears coach Lovie Smith. Briggs missed only four games his first 10 seasons in the league, but over the past two years he has managed to play only 17 games. The former Arizona Wildcat ends his Bears career with 15 sacks, 16 interceptions, and six defensive touchdowns.
