Jarret Johnson gets his wish and retires as a Baltimore Raven

Former San Diego Chargers outside linebacker Jarret Johnson gets his wish and retires as a Baltimore Raven after 12 years with the NFL. He announced his retirement from the Chargers last week. Although he had no bad feelings against the Chargers, Johnson maintained a relationship with Baltimore. It has always been considered home for him. According to the Ravens website, they plan to invite Johnson to Baltimore to sign a ceremonial one-day contract. (Baltimore Ravens )

Johnson left the Ravens in free agency in 2011 and signed with the San Diego Chargers in 2012. Johnson helped keep the defense no lower than 10th place during his nine years there. Year after year, he posted career high stats in tackles and sacks, including surpassing Peter Boulware's franchise record of 111 consecutive starts in 2010. He played a franchise record of 129 straight games while with the Ravens. This stop-at-nothing, consistent defensive powerhouse stopped everything in his path. He ends his career with 506 tackles, 25.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles and 3 interceptions (ESPN). He has earned the right and respect to retire as a Baltimore Raven. Caw!
