49ers in the running to sign former Australian rugby star Jarryd Hayne

According to the Sacramento Bee, the 49ers are among a handful of teams in the running to sign 27 year-old former national rugby player of the year Jarryd Hayne. It had been thought that Hayne had signed a futures contract with the Lions, but his agent said that there was no deal in place. (The Sacramento Bee)
Fantasy Impact:
New 49er head coach Jim Tomsula has experience working with foreign born conversion projected from his time working in NFL Europe, and was instrumental in convincing English DE Lawrence Okoye to sign with the team. Hayne stands 6'2, weights in at 226 pounds, and reportedly runs a 40 yard dash in 4.53 seconds. He's more of a curiosity at this point, but will be one to watch in camp, as he supposedly has good hands.
