Derwin James placed on IR

The Chargers have officially placed injured second-year safety Derwin James on injured reserve. He will not be eligible to return until mid season. (Eric Williams on Twitter )
Fantasy Impact:
James underwent foot surgery on August 22nd, a procedure with an expected recovery time of 3-4 months. He was selected first-team All-Pro as a rookie and was expected to be a key piece of the Chargers defense again. Safety Jaylen Watkins was brought back to fill the roster spot.
