NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that free agent safety Landon Collins is signing a six-year deal with the Washington Redskins worth $84 million with $45 million guaranteed. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
After the Giants failed to place the franchise tag on Collins, their divisional rivals pounced on him during the legal tampering period. After Washington cut D.J. Swearinger, they had a massive need at strong safety, but they shouldn't miss him at all with Collins in the mix, who's been selected to three Pro Bowls in his first four seasons in the league. There's a lot of money tied to his contract, as his $45 million guaranteed is $15 million more than Eric Berry received prior to the 2017 season. At just 25 years old, Collins should be a difference-maker for a long time.
