NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that the San Francisco 49ers are signing free agent linebacker Kwon Alexander to a four-year deal worth $54 million with $27 million guaranteed. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
It's a hefty price to pay, but the 49ers were stuck in-between a rock and a hard place after releasing Rueben Foster last season. The $27 million in guaranteed money is tied with Luke Kuechly for the most among linebackers. The signing will allow the 49ers to move Fred Warner back to outside linebacker and give them some flexibility in the draft. If the Cardinals do take Kyler Murray at No. 1 overall, the additions of Nick Bosa and Alexander would start to transform the underwhelming front-seven unit they currently have.
