Reuben Foster claimed off waivers by Redskins

by Alex Johnson | Wed, Nov 28th 12:34am EST

The Redskins claimed former 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster off waivers Tuesday. Foster was released following a Saturday night arrest at the team’s hotel on charges of domestic violence. It was his second arrest on domestic violence accusations this year. Charges were dropped from the earlier arrest when the accuser testified under oath that she fabricated the accusation. That was the same woman who accused him in this most recent incident. (Adam Schefter on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact:

Shortly after he was awarded to the Redskins off waivers, Foster was placed on the Commissioner Exempt list. According to the league’s personal conduct policy (via Ian Rapoport on Twitter), a player on the Commissioner Exempt List may not practice or attend games, but may be present at the club’s facility on a reasonable basis for meetings, individual workouts, therapy and rehabilitation, and other permitted non-football activities if permitted by the team. Redskins Senior V.P. of Player Personnel Doug Williams said in a statement: “Reuben will have to go through numerous steps including the full legal process, an investigation and potential discipline from the NFL, as well as meetings with counselors associated with the team before he will ever have the opportunity to wear the burgundy and gold as a player.” Foster will receive his normal salary while on the Commissioner Exempt List.
