A long time coming, the Giants are electing to bench Flowers, who they converted to right tackle after a failed attempt on the left side for most of his three-year career. In lieu of Flowers, the Giants will start second-year UDFA Chad Wheeler. Something had to give and it finally has. Perhaps there is nowhere else left for the Giants offensive line now to go but up.
