Jeff Janis released by Browns

The Cleveland Browns released wide receiver Jeff Janis in their first round of roster cut-downs on Friday. Janis was signed by the team as a free agent in March and never appeared in a regular season game with the Browns.
Fantasy Impact:
Janis finished the preseason with just three catches for 47 yards. He missed some time in early training camp with a minor injury and was never able to catch up. He should catch on somewhere as a special teams player but his chances of making an impact as an NFL receiver seem to be dwindling.
