Nate Gerry could win starting job
by Alex Johnson | Tue, Aug 7th 1:30pm EDT
Nate Gerry is making a strong case for himself in competition for the starting weak-side linebacker job. He’s battling Kamu Grugier-Hill and Corey Nelson. (Philly.com)
Fantasy Impact:
The trio are competing for the vacant spot left behind by Mychal Kendricks who was released in May. Gerry, a college safety at Nebraska, has seen a large share of first-team reps in training camp. After starting 2017 on the Eagles practice squad, Gerry played in the team’s final 13 (including postseason) games. He was mostly a special-teamer as he adjusted to the position change, but was a defensive starter in Week 17 against Dallas. This is a position battle to keep an eye on throughout the summer, but Gerry seems to have a good shot at the moment.
