Clive Walford claimed off waivers by Jets

Woefully short on tight ends after losing Austin Seferian-Jenkins to the Jaguars, the New York Jets claimed former 2015 third-round tight end Clive Walford off of waivers from Oakland. Walford was released by the Raiders on March 27th after catching just nine passes and accumulating 80 receiving yards for Oakland in 2017. (Adam Schefter on twitter )
Fantasy Impact:
The Jets were woefully short on tight ends, with in-line blocker Eric Tomlinson sitting atop the depth chart. Walford caught 61 passes for 688 yards and six touchdowns in his first two seasons with the Raiders and showed some promise as a pass-catcher to go along with his size. Walford has an excellent chance at winning the starting job out of training camp and could be an interesting late-round sleeper, especially if the Jets end up giving a rookie quarterback starts in 2018.
