Nix placed on IR

Rookie third-round pick Louis Nix III (knee) was placed on season-ending IR today. Nix was inactive for the first 3 games of the season following arthroscopic surgery before training camp. (Houston Chronicle)

Nix goes to IR and the Texans have signed free agent nose tackle Ryan Pickett. Pickett, a 13-year veteran, was the Rams 2001 first-round pick and played his last 8 seasons with the Packers.
