Opportunity knocks for Gooden

by Rickey Brooksher | Fri, Sep 12th 2:51pm EDT

Titansonline.com writer Joe Fann reports LB Zaviar Gooden is now the starting ILB for the Titans. He will be replacing the injured Zach Brown. Gooden commented about his new chance to start for the Titans. “You’ve got to be ready. If you’re a backup you have to prepare like you’re a starter,” Gooden said. “You never know what can happen and that showed itself on Sunday.” He recorded four tackles after he entered the game against the Chiefs. Fantasy Impact:

Gooden was a third round pick for the Titans in 2013. He had a productive college career at Missouri, and ran a 4.47 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, fastest among all LBs. Last season as a rookie he played in nine games, started one game, and recorded 13 tackles. He isn't a waiver wire target at the moment, but fantasy owners may want to put Gooden on their IDP watch list.
