Palmer to be No. 2 QB against Seattle

by Dale Redman | Wed, Aug 20th 6:37pm EDT

In the third preseason game in Seattle Friday Night, Jordan Palmer will be the first off the bench to relieve Jay Cutler. This is a switch from last week when Jimmy Clausen was the No. 2 QB versus Jacksonville. Needless to say, the backup QB battle rages on and will most likely be decided after the 4th and final preseason game. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Unlike last year when Josh McCown impressed in the preseason, both Palmer and Clausen haven't wowed many on the coaching staff. So if Cutler were to miss time this season, it doesn't look like either backup QB could have the breakthrough season like McCown did in 2013. Best to stay away from Palmer and Clausen all season long.
