Smith Unspectacular in Niners' debut

Alfonso Smith made his debut with the 49ers in preseason action Thursday against the Ravens. He had two rushes for -1 yds and a 10yd catch. (NFL.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Smith is competing for the #3 job behind Frank Gore against Jewell Hampton, Marcus Lattimore, and LaMichael James. With Lattimore and James currently hurt, the former Arizona Cardinal has a decent opportunity to compete for the job, but will need to produce better results in preseason work to earn a roster spot, let alone have any fantasy relevance.
