TE Jake Ballard Announces Retirement
by TD Monk | Wed, Aug 6th 5:17pm EDT
TE Jake Ballard announced his retirement today saying his "body never felt the same" after suffering a knee injury in Super Bowl XLVI while playing for the New York Giants. Ballard played in eight games last season for the Cardinals, starting three. (azcentral.com)
Fantasy Impact:
This lessens a bit of a logjam at TE for the Cardinals as Ballard was listed as #2 on the depth chart. The team has John Carlson, Rob Housler, Troy Niklas (r), Darren Fells, and Andre Hardy on the roster. TE has historically been a position with little fantasy relevance in Bruce Arians' offense.
