The Los Angeles Lakers are finalizing a deal to aquire Patrick Beverley from the Utah Jazz in exchange for Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson as reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania. (Shams Charania on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Beverley, who came to the Jazz this summer in the Rudy Gobert trade, will now head to Los Angeles before ever playing a game in Salt Lake City. Beverley averaged 9.2 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds last season in Minnesota and is known as one of the NBA’s most ferocious perimeter defenders, something the Lakers desperately lack. Beverley also holds a career three-point percentage of 37.8%. Pat Bev appears happy with the trade that sends him back to the team that originally drafted him out of Arkansas, tweeting on Thursday morning “Woke up a Laker!!!” The deal is expected to be finalized as soon as Thursday.
