Fantasy Impact:
Hollis-Jefferson, even in a shortened preseason, was able to make a noticeable impact on a Timberwolves team that lacked the grit and defensive prowess necessary to remain competitive in a stacked Western Conference. Across three preseason games, he averaged 11.7 minutes of playing time, 7.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.7 blocks while shooting 88.9 percent from the floor. Being on a non-guaranteed one-year minimum-salary contract, Hollis-Jefferson can be claimed off waivers; however, if unclaimed he will return to the free-agent market. If he does join a club, it would be best only to consider deploying Hollis-Jefferson as a deep flier option in DFS tournament formats, given the uncertainty of his role in the rotation.
