Fantasy Impact:
Iwundu has averaged 18.0 minutes of playing time, 5.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.6 steals per game. The Magic seem to be running their rotation as if Jonathan Isaac will not be returning for the restart. However, with reports indicating that there might be a chance for Isaac’s return, Iwundu finds himself in an interesting position, which drastically alters his potential value. Should Isaac not return, Iwundu has an opportunity to own the starting small forward role as Aaron Gordon would fill the four position, or he could be a backup behind Aaron Gordon, rotating in and out with James Ennis should Isaac return. These past two scrimmages Ennis has been starting at the three, leaving question marks around Iwundu’s role in the rotation. His production is somewhat inconsistent, but should he reclaim and maintain a position within the rotation, first or second, he would be worth a look in deep-league play. His minimum price point and his ability to put up a decent line here-and-there could also make him an ideal candidate for a stars-and-scrubs lineup in DFS.
