The A's have released DH Billy Butler.
Fantasy Impact:
The A's are eating a significant amount of money, especially for them, in order to say goodbye to Butler. Butler's contract will pay him another $10 million in 2017 in addition to what he's yet to earn this year. He struggled with the A's, not living up to their expectations, with a .733 OPS over 221 at-bats. He was also involved in a recent off-the-field issue that resulted in a concussion.
