Jonathon Niese to have surgery on knee

Jonathan Niese is expected to have surgery on his left knee according to manager Terry Collins. Niese, removed in the first inning of last night's game due to knee soreness, had been experiencing some knee issues over the past week. It is unclear at this point what type of knee surgery he will have, but his season is likely over. (Adam Rubin on Twitter )
