Tom Wilhelmsen returned to the majors today and faced off against his former team in a mop-up situation tonight. Wilhelmsen, the former closer for the Mariners, pitched a scoreless ninth inning in the Rangers 10-4 win over Seattle.
Fantasy Impact:
Wilhelmsen had all sorts of issues and had been sent down to Triple-A Round Rock. When he was demoted, he was sporting an ERA just under 10.00. In five games at Round Rock, Wilhelmsen went 0-1 with a 1.13 ERA. He tossed eight innings, giving up five hits and just one run, while walking one and striking out five.
