John Lamb allows two homers over six innings
by Justin Elick | Sat, May 21st 7:22pm EDT
John Lamb allowed home runs to Leonys Martin and Franklin Gutierrez among four other hits in six innings of work against the Mariners on Saturday. He walked three, struck out three, and was charged with four runs (three earned). Pitching opposite Felix Hernandez is a tall task, and the Reds didn't manage a single run in this one, falling 4-0 for their sixth straight loss, and ninth in 10 games.
Fantasy Impact:
Ultimately, Lamb pitched fairly well aside from those those two bad pitches to Martin and Gutierrez, but still fell to 0-2 with the loss. He now owns a 5.40 ERA and 1.65 WHIP across four starts (although those numbers are inflated by the shellacking he took at the hands of the Indians last time out). He isn't a player that you should be interested in adding in anything but the deepest of NL-Only leagues at this point. He'll get a chance to get back on track Friday at Milwaukee.
