Corbin Burnes strikes out only three in loss
by Bruno Mulé | Diamondbacks Correspondent | Sat, Apr 19th 1:21pm EDT
Corbin Burnes (0-2) took the loss Friday against the Cubs, pitching six innings and allowing two runs on six hits. He struck out an uncharacteristically low three batters and issued no walks, generating just seven swinging strikes and posting a 21% CSW rate. Burnes served up one home run.
Fantasy Impact:
Despite the quality start, Burnes took his second loss and continued a trend of low strikeout numbers (20 K in 27.1 IP). He now owns a 4.61 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and a 20:9 K:BB ratio. While his velocity remains fine, his hard-hit rate allowed sits at 50% this season. He lines up for a home start against the Rays on Wednesday.
