Max Scherzer (thumb) won't throw Friday
by Bruno Mulé | Fri, Apr 4th 12:29pm EDT
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Max Scherzer (thumb) will not play catch Friday but hopes the right-hander can begin throwing at some point during the team's road trip (April 4-13), reports Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. Although Friday was the earliest Scherzer might have resumed throwing post-cortisone shot, Schneider indicated this delay isn't considered a setback as Scherzer remains day-to-day. (Keegan Matheson)
Fantasy Impact:
Scherzer won't resume throwing Friday as initially hoped, pushing back his recovery timeline. While not deemed a setback, this delay makes a return when first eligible (mid-April) less likely. Continue stashing him on the IL.
