Max Scherzer (thumb) could throw Friday

by Bruno Mulé | Wed, Apr 2nd 11:39am EDT

Max Scherzer (thumb) received good news as exams revealed no structural ligament damage after he exited his Blue Jays debut early Saturday, reports Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star. Scherzer received two cortisone shots Monday and told reporters Tuesday doctors were "surprised" things looked okay structurally. He could resume throwing as soon as Friday. (Mike Wilner)

Fantasy Impact:

Great news for Scherzer, as his thumb issue revealed no structural damage. After cortisone shots Monday, he might throw by Friday, suggesting a potential minimum IL stay is possible. His fantasy value holds, while spot-starter Easton Lucas remains off the radar.
